Pains in the chest.

I too have had pain in the chest when I suffer a panic attack but i get so weak and my legs and arms shake so bad, that I forget about the chest pain. Isn't that crazy? Anyways, I had all the tests you mentioned and they found nothing. I wore a holter monitor for 2 days and had to press a button everytime i had a panic attack during those 2 days, but it was inconclusive. They found nothing. I then had a stress test done, i ran on a treadmill all hooked up to monitors and then immediately after i ran, they laid me on a table and took an ultra sound. They did find something. I have mitral valve regurgitation. It is very common in people with mitral valve prolapse but the odd thing is, I do not have a prolapse valve which my doctor thought was very strange. Anyways, while I go through a panic attack, my heart races incredibly, like I ran a marathon, and then my mitral regurgitation kicks in on top of the panic attack. My advise to you is to get a stress test done with the echo-cardiogram. It will at least ease your mind if you rule that out.

Dear Sav, You will find alot of people on this site with similiar symptoms. We tend to shallow breathe also. Deep, cleansing breaths might help release some of the stress you are holding in. What you could be experiencing (now I am not a Doctor so you should bring this up with your physcian)is acid reflux which can cause pain or burning in the chest area. I know for myself that having anxiety problems makes that condition alot worse for me. Just keep coming back to this site and if you can work the program it helps so much. Take care.

Well, I often have chest pains too, like a tightness in my chest. I wouldn't say it is constant like there at all times everyday but it is there often enough to be a real pain in the b***. I Have challenged my thoughts about it very often. It helps. Now that I can get it through my head more easily that i have been checked out and that I am fine i find myself not being freaked out bu it as much. Sometimes i actually manage to ignore it along with other aches and pains my anxiety brings on. Anyway, I hope this helps, You are not alone, I think many of us have experienced this particular symptom. -Diva

Hi guys, Ive been suffering from anxiety for a couple of months now and i have good and bad days. Im taking lexapro and I have also been taking Ducene (valium) for when i just cant come down. I wanted to ask if anybody else has the same symptoms as I do. I have a constant pain in the chest (tightness) stich like pain in the chest. I have had ecg tests xrays and CT scans which have all come back fine. Does anybody else have anything like this as It flares up when I breath in and breath out. My GP says that it is due to the stress and anxiety that Im going through, But I cant help thinking that it isnt, as I have these chest pains even when I have good days from anxiety. any feed back would be welcome Sav.
