My symptoms will vary every month but lately its been just an overall sense of anxiety and dread, some depression, but the one symptom that has really been bothering me lately is the feeling unreality. I noticed that those feelings were the worst during those times in my cycle. I'm hoping that I've pinpointed something here and maybe if I work on the root of that problem, it will help with my anxiety.

Unfortunately, when I am at my worst I get almost every symptom in the book. The worst is this sudden flush, like a hot flash, then the shakes, tingling fingers, lightening in my elbow (Funny bone) and neck, blurry vision, ear pressure, and weak knees. It makes me jump out of my chair. Then I start wondering if I have nerve damage, if I am going blind, if my blood sugar ar pressure is plummiting. Then come the headaches. oooohhh, it's bad!!

Anxious, This is fantastic research! The only advice we can give you is to speak with your doctor and show him what you have found out. This may require a further assessment on both your parts. By keeping a journal or diary, your able to possibly pinpoint areas that need attention and you may also better assess the situation. Funny thing...I made that exact connection today. Last month the week before I started I was having an awful time. So this month I started paying attention, so to speak. Same thing. Maybe iron or some other vitamin might help?

Hello everyone. It has been awhile since I posted here. I have been having a good couple of weeks and I decided to do a little test on myself. My anxiety had just come back over the last 2-3 months after being under control for about 5 years. Within the last year I have lost my sister and my father suddenly. I seemed to be ok right after their deaths but then recently my anxiety came back with a vengeance. Some people were telling me that I hadn't really grieved and that now its all coming to the surface, which I do believe in part. But I also decided to write a daily journal for the last month just with my symptoms and level of anxiety and compare it to the days of my menstrual cycle. I've noticed that between about day 13-14 I begin to feel extremely anxious and tired, and I get horrible feelings of unreality. This lasts for about 10 days until I get my period. Once my period arrives I seem to have a noticeable relief in most of my symptoms. It takes a few days to come completely down but then, as evidenced by the last 2 weeks, I feel fine. Well I'm coming back to the beginning of that cycle and I already noticed today I'm starting to have that super anxious feeling again and I am starting to feel that my hormones may have a lot to do with this bout of anxiety. I think that the terrible things that have been occurring with my family (among losing my sister and my father, dealing with my mother who had a massive stroke and my other sister battling breast cancer) have a lot to do with the recurrance of the anxiety but the more I pay attention the more I realize that my hormones could be playing a really big part as well. Anybody have any thoughts or advice?
