While reading your post, I realized that the party has already taken place. How did it go?

:8o:UGGGH! It is my boyfriend's birthday on saturday, and he is throwing and party at our home. Now normally this would be fun but there are going to be a lot of people, a lot of noise and people I have never met. these types of situations tend to make me feel nervous and usually I start to feel as though I can't breath. I have never been much for a lot of people around me I can't even stand going to a busy mall. I am afraid that I will start drinking to loosen up. bad, bad, bad!this can make it worse. Our suite is big but I am afraid there will be nowhere to escape. I could feign illness but then I would feel guilty afterwards, or just not show up, but he would be disappointed in me. I want to get over this and press forward. do you think that maybe I should try and wait till it gets bad and disappear for a walk, I am not sure it would be embarrassing if I had a panic attack in front of his friends. they'll think I am a freak. I need to go through with this anybody have any suggestions on dealing with a crowd? laurie02
