hi duvet,

i do not usually venture into the introductions... I am the resident bipolar and when I peak I tend to be too much... do not be shy or hesitant to tell me to slow down. i will understand.

As a university student, many moons ago,  I had no idea what was happening to me and used alcohol to self-medicate. I loved it because it was a quick fix.  -Sorry to the moderators and those against the alcohol but at the time it helped-  Of course it was no long-term solution.

how do medication and alcohol fit together for you?

Duvet,

Welcome to our support community.  You seem to have a good plan in place.  The program was designed by doctor's and can be beneficial in your progress. Take it slow and ask questions.  The members do know where you are coming from and can be of great assistance to you.  Use your doctor and pharmacist to help you with medication dosages and side effects.

We have a sister site that may be of interest to you.  It deals with the addiction of drinking and provides may tips and tools to help you with your quit journey. AlcoholHelpCenter.net

Let us know how we can help.

This is hard to do, as I've been "down in the dumps" for quite some time, years in fact.

I have been on and off medication and go through ups and downs, lefts and rights i am my own worst enemy at times in that sometimes i don't take my medication, so my first step is to commit myself to taking my medicine. My second step is to stop drinking, as this is causing me to do stupid things and put me in terrible hideous situations that make the depression 100 times worse than it needs to be.

My third thing for now, is look on this site and talk to people help others and in turn learn how to help myself.

I wish everyone luck with their journeys
