I'm glad you found help. While looking for answers to all that I've been going through I have found that the manic side can be more of a state of agitation (rather than feeling "euphoric" - for lack of a better term). Although I didn't recognize BP signs in myself, I sure did recognize that they were behaviors my boyfriend was complaining about...

I discovered this site from the Daily Strength organization and it seems to be exactly what I am looking for. I have been diagnosed as bipolar after my hospitalization in March. I am having a difficult time accepting the label as I have never had a manic stage that I can remember. My moods have been from depressed to seriously depressed with outbursts of uncontrolled anger. My last episode of anger caused my wife to leave the house and not return. Separation anxiety is one of my triggers. I am now taking Lamictal and Prozac and they seem to be working okay.
