Our program consists of 16 sessions which you move through at your own pace. Also be sure to read through some of our forums and to join in! We all learn from each others experiences. Hello I'm new to the group. I am glad to have found this site as CBT while available where I live, has a waiting list, is hard to get to and means evening sessions. For me online sessions are much more flexible, I don't have to leave my home when the weather is below zero (like now) nor do I have to get a sitter for the kids. So this is a blessing. I was formally diagnosed with MDD in 2002, but I know I have had depression for a long time. Actually a Dr did say I had depression way back in 1977, but did not treat me for it. I also had post partum depression after my 2nd child. Here I knew something was very wrong and begged my dr for help, but she was only concerned whether I was a danger to myself or the child. Since I wasn't threatening harm she did nothing to help. Have been on meds since 2002 with pretty good success. Kind of reminds me of using the patch to quit smoking. It doesn't cure the problem but gives you a reprieve from many symptoms so you can work on it. Looking forward to learning and growing within this support network.
