Can you have the doctor that prescribed your medication speak to your parents and help them understand that what you have is a legitimate physical illness that manifests itself in your thoughts and behaviors. You must keep the doctor apprised of any reactions you have to the meds as well. I know it's hard but try not to think that your disappointing your parents. I am a parent and if my child were in pain, I would want to know and to help. I would be very worried and sometimes when people worry they say things they don't really mean. But if they are like most parents, they love you so much that they will want to help if they can.

I am a freshman in college who has been on medication for my depression since I was a freshman in high school off and on. Right now I am on Zoloft 100 mg, and since I was put on 100 mg I have been going down hill more. I am not sure if it is all my medication, or if it even has anything to do with it, but I am worried. I need help trying to figure out what to do. The thing is that my parents would be totally disapointed with me if they found out I am having trouble again, even though its really not my fault, or atleasts I don't think it is. But they don't think that. Please does anyone have any ideas what I can do? My thoughts have been slipping really bad, and I am worried about myself a lot, but I can't tell anyone around here, I don't want to loose the things that I have and love. Any advise? Please help me.
