Starting driving

Hi JadeQ,

Hugs makes some great points. How can you work on controlling these thoughts during your next exposure? How can you prepare your mind for the exposure you want to do? Also, how can you challenge these thoughts? Take a look at the questions to challenge negativity within session three.

Let us know what you come up with. I am looking forward to reading about your progress and hurdles through this.

Thought records are a great tool I used to deal with an obstacle. It's not the neighbours who are the obstacle, but the thoughts. As for the driving, it might take a professional to break the task of driving into manageable pieces, since this is a skill which you'll apply in the future, namely - taking a task and making it easier by separating it into comfortable parts.

I just can't seem to start my driving exposure.  I can drive around my neighood with my husband in the car but can't bring myself to drive on the main road with him.  I also can't get mymyself to drive by myself even to the end of my road.  My biggest issue is I'd like to pick a spot to drive to then turn around and then go farther the next time, but I feel so embarassed by my neighbors seeing me do this.  How do I get over it and just do it?
