I'm on alprazolam for anxiety attacks. It helps me a great deal.

I've had anxiety attacks on and off for a couple of years. They are so uncomfortable and scary, but there is better short term help medically, I believe, than prozac. Try telling your doctor again how much trouble they are causing. I went on a medicine klonazipam, for a month or so till i got better. good luck

I recently stopped smoking and am in my 35 day of being smoke free. About 2 weeks ago I started getting these horrible anxiety attacks. They come on without warning and hit me like a wave of deep depression. It is almost as if I had taken a pill and it suddenly kicked in. I have never had this happen before and am wondering if it is a withdrawal from smoking because of the chemical withdrawal or if it is something that was underlying and showed up after I quit smoking. I went to my doctor and she put me on prosac, but I don't think she completely understands that this could be a withdrawal symptom. I really wish this could go away because I hate this feeling and I don't want to start smoking again just to get over this. Please Help.
